Commissioner Beatty is a native of Catawba County who grew up in the Balls Creek area and graduated from Bandy’s High School. She received an associate degree from Mitchell Junior College and her bachelor of arts from UNC- Chapel Hill. Beatty’s career includes serving as merchandise director of the Hickory Crawdads baseball team, cost accountant and internal auditor for Burlington Industries , teacher at Newton Conover High School, and sales account manager for B&L Telephone ,Mitel, and Active Voice.
